Science Week March 2016

Making and launching air powered rockets

Making and launching air powered rockets 1 Launching air powered rockets

The children were challenged to make an air powered rocket using just one sheet of A4 paper. They had to think about aerodynamics, weight, rigidity, strength, balance and angle of launch. Each child's rocket was then launched using an air pressure of 60psi. The winner was Mehvish in Year 6, whose rocket flew 55m!

This was one of several activities, competitions and assemblies which took place to celebrate British Science Week, all on the theme of 'space'.
