What we are learning...

This half term (Summer 1) we will be learning about forces, including magnets.  We will be den building, thinking about the different forces required with each action.  We will also be discussing different forces of movement such as the force of a volcano erupting, a rocket launching and car accelerating.

This half term (Autumn 2) we will be looking at animals and humans.  We will be exploring the types of things that animals and humans eat, how to stay healthy, what the skeleton does and the main vital organs.  We will be looking at circulation and finding out what happen to our heart rate and breathing when we exercise.

This will be linked closely with literacy and the children will be writing a report bout the human body.

During science lessons in Autumn 1, we were looking at different characteristics of rocks and how they were formed.  The children learnt such as permeable, impermeable, metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary.  We also had a brief look at different types of soil such as peat, clay and composts.
