It was fantastic to welcome all of our children and staff into school on World Book Day - dressed in their finest pyjamas and loungewear to enjoy reading all day!
All of our children also engaged in poetry reading and writing - which we celebrated together in an assembly on Friday afternoon. From Key Stage 2, we heard epitaphs, limericks, haikus and a musical rap as well as poetry from Key Stage 1 celebrating what they appreciate around them and the well-loved book Please Mrs. Butler!
Thank you for all of the contributions to our school book fund - which gained a further £138 on World Book Day.
We hope that our focus on enjoying reading, and specifically poetry, can by built upon at school and home.
