At St Philip's CE Primary Academy, our daily act of Collective Worship is an important part of the day when we gather as a school community to reflect, think and pray. It is a time when we think about our school values and promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our children. All children and staff in school are invited to attend, where we can actively demonstrate how we 'work together with hope in our hearts,' each day.
An annual programme of Collective Worship has been planned to ensure children receive a varied and theological approach to the chosen theme.
Collective Worship is led by a range of people: Headteacher, our parish priests and other members of the clergy, class teachers and our pupil-led Worship Council. Revd. Chris Chorleton and his team lead worship once a fortnight.
Children play an important part in evaluating Collective Worship. Children reflect on the theme of the worship, the stories they have been told, their personal reflections and what they have taken from worship to use in their daily lives. Our Worship Council also formally evaluate acts of worship and collect the thoughts and evaluations of other pupils and adults.
