It's the final PE with Joe children. So let's finish with a bang. It's fancy dress Friday so get them costumes on and get moving. Go for it!

Skipping with Mr Swales, Skier & Bell Skipping

As we are all back in school next week, I will give you the opportunity to complete your skipping progress charts if you haven't already done so. For those who have, or those who wish to challenge themselves further, please have a look at the two skips in the clip below. The Skier Skip and the Bell Skip. It also shows you how to combine the two skips to make patterns/shapes if you master them. Happy Skipping!

Have you got the Eye of the Tiger? Follow this workout/dance routine and get that heart rate pumping. Go for it!

#ThisIsPE - Coordination with ball skills

This was the very first #ThisIsPE lesson and was probably one of my favourites. I know a lot of you like the tennis lessons we do in school, so I thought it would be nice to revisit it before our return. How many hit ups and rallies can you do? Remember if you don't have partner you can always hit against an appropriate wall. Have fun!

Wake Up & Shake Up, PE With Joe 2021 | Wednesday 3rd March

*** UPDATE HIS SOUND SEEMS TO BE WORKING ***
Joe has had some technical issues this morning and unfortunately there is no sound on this workout 😰. We have all done these workouts enough times, so we know to follow his actions on the screen and use his timer to time each exercise and rest period. Maybe put some music on you like whilst working out. Get those tunes on!

Chance to Shine Cricket Sessions: Cool Catcher

Let's carry on using our tennis balls today children with a little bit of catching practice. Make sure you have plenty of space for first activity as you will need to throw the ball high. Start with touching just your head before catching the ball then if successful add the next body part to the sequence. Also don't forget the pairs activity, you could throw and catch using a wall to rebound the ball back to you if you have no partner. Good Luck!

This one always makes me smile. We are going right back to the start of home learning. Who remembers Shake Your Sillies Out children. Have Fun!

Forza Football Week 1, Tiki Taka's and Close Control

A few football skills for you today children. Try this great activity from Forza Football Academy. If you don't have a football you could use your tennis balls from your pack. You don't need much space and just two objects to use as markers/cones. How many Tiki Taka's can you do?

Wake Up & Shake Up, PE With Joe 2021 | Monday 1st March

It's the 1st of the month so let's start as we mean to go on. We all missed our session with Joe on Friday due to him having technical issues so let's really go for it this morning. You can do it!

Chance to Shine Cricket sessions - Week 5 Ferocious Fielder

Last week in our cricket sessions we looked at batting and bowling. Today we are going to look at the last of the main aspects of cricket which is fielding. Try this Ferocious Fielder activity. You can use your tennis balls from your packs or if indoors you could use a rolled up pair of socks. Can you hit the targets? Can you run the batter out?

Skipping with Mr Swales

Hi Children,

No new video clip today as I want you all to do a progress check on your skipping. Below is a progress chart for you to use. Tick off each box as you complete them. I know most of you will not be able to print it off, but you could draw the chart on to a piece of paper. You just need to be able to write your results down somewhere. If you need to recap the 3 skips on the chart scroll down to the last skipping video on the 12th February. Also use the timer below for the timed skip yes.

5 Minute Timer, How long can you skip for?

At the bottom of your progress chart there is a timed skip. Use this timer to time how long you can skip without stopping. It could be 10 seconds, 20 seconds or all the way up to 60 seconds or even further! You can tick off each one as you pass it. Keep practicing as we will be doing a skipping endurance challenge when we return to school. Good luck!

Can you complete all 3 challenges? Go for it!

Chance to Shine Cricket at Home sessions - Week 6 Skilful Scorer

This session looks at batting, working on hand-eye co-ordination. Use your imagination if you don't have a cricket bat. You could use a frying pan, rolled up newspaper/magazine or even your hand. You just need something to strike the ball with. How accurate can you be with your shots? Good Luck

Good Morning Children,

Here are your PE activities for today. I thought with England starting the 3rd test against India today and the Pakistan Super League just recently starting it was a good time to look at some cricket skills starting with bowling. Also we have a fitness activity as well as an active challenge for the Wake Up & Shake. Enjoy!

Wake Up & Shake UP, Speed Bounce Challenge

A slightly different Wake Up & Shake Up Today. I am going to set you an individual challenge. Can you do the speed bounce challenge? How many bounces can you do in 20 seconds? Try this several times with rest intervals in between and see if you can improve your score. Good luck!

PE With Joe 2021 | Wednesday 24th Feb

Here is PE with Joe. It's Wednesday so it's a workout with an added quiz. Today's questions are all about inventions.

Chance to Shine Cricket Sessions - Week 2 Brilliant Bowler

Try this Brilliant Bowler activity. Remember to look at the key to success tips to help you master the bowling technique. You could always start using underarm bowling then progress to overarm. Your target could be anything, a bin, box or even a chair. How many points can you score?

Throwing & Catching Challenges

Let's make use of those tennis balls from your PE packs today. Try these 6 individual throwing & catching challenges. Start with catching using two hands rather than one then move on to the one hand catching. Also if you complete all the challenges successfully try make some of your own. Make sure you have enough space around you. Good luck!

Skipping with Mr Swales Session 2

Hi children. It's that time again so grab your skipping ropes and off we go. Today we will be looking at increasing the number of jumps we do and using a double bounce. Also to challenge you all further we will also be looking at a hopping skip. Can you do the Hop/Skip Combo?

Once you've mastered the Hop/Skip Combo try using this song and skip when it says skip and hop when it says hop. It's great for your fitness too!

Wake Up & Shake Up, Hi Children. Stretching and warming up is a very important part of our PE. Here is a 5 minute full body warm up which will get your body ready for the days activities. Let's get flexible!

Lesson 19 Throwing techniques

Here's a fun throwing techniques activity. This will help to develop your throwing and aiming to hit a target. Make sure you have enough room for the overarm throw. Choose some targets and off you go!

Hopefully your fitness levels are starting to improve a lot now. Here is a 20 minute workout with an added quiz. This weeks questions are all about space. Go for it!

Lesson 23 Orienteering

Try this orienteering activity. You will be making and using maps. Can you find your way around your house/garden and find the objects using the map? Get other household members involved to set each other challenges in the hide and seek game. Also hide numbers and letters which can be made into sums or words. Good luck!

Another quick 5 minute blast from Joe. Great for all ages 35 seconds work | 25 seconds rest. Go for it!

Lesson 22 Treasure chest

A great set of activities to develop many of the fundamental skills we use in PE. A few different variations, either for individuals or for partner work. How many items of treasure can you collect? Also add some maths into the activity by giving items different values and collecting the right amount. Have fun!

Lesson 25 Directions through dance

How many different ways can you move around your living room? This is a great activity to help develop your balance, coordination, spatial awareness and creativity. Bring out the inner animal in you. Roooaaarrr!

This week is Children's Mental Health Week. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Please try this breathing exercise to help calm yourself and relax your mind. Breathe and hold in time with the animation.

It's Wednesday workout/quiz time. Can you complete all the exercises as well as answering the quiz questions? Today's quiz is all about capital cities. Good luck!

Lesson 15 Striking for distance

Striking an object is commonly used in sports such as cricket, tennis and badminton. These activities will improve your hand-eye coordination as well as your striking for distance and accuracy. Try the hand cricket game and see how many runs you can score.

Lesson 24 Gym Shapes and Travel

Here's some great gymnastics activities for you. This follows on from our previous basic shapes lesson. It incorporates movements using basic shapes as well as shape balances on different parts of your body. They are a great way to improve your posture and ability to move around with control.

Try this Five-to-One Challenge. This will test your agility, balance and hand-eye coordination. There is also some maths in there to get your brain working as well as your body. Compete against yourself to try and improve your time. Good luck!

Lesson 16 Horizontal climbing

In this lesson, we are going to look at indoor climbing. All you need is some socks and gloves or you could use other pieces of clothing folded up like a t-shirt. A great activity to challenge your balance, strength, flexibility and problem solving skills. Good Luck!

Lesson 13 Creative movement

Here's a great activity to encourage creativity and teamwork. Mirror and react to another household members movements and create different movement pathways around an obstacle course. If everyone in your household in busy, why not create an imaginary partner or listen to a song and react to the changes in the music. Get them creative juices flowing!

Hi children, Today for our wake up and shake up we are going to use Joe's fancy dress Friday workout. You could do a quick 5 minute section of it or if your feeling really energetic you could do the whole workout. Go for it!

Hi children. This is a fun activity you can do at home using balloons and it will also develop your hand-eye coordination. Who doesn't like messing around with balloons. I know I do. Have fun!

Could you help with the household chores? How about putting your socks away. This agility and throwing activity and game will develop both your agility and throwing accuracy. Happy cleaning!

Wake Up & Shake Up, Do the Weather Dance or Singing in the Rain

Hi children. Crazy weather we are having at the moment: snow last week and Storm Christoph this week! Can you do the Weather Dance and spot any of the types of weather we've had? Or try Singing in the Rain and follow the moves adding an extra move on each time? EYFS and Key Stage 1 might prefer the second video - but why not try both!

Lesson 10 Flat target accuracy

Following on from last weeks throwing for accuracy lesson. This will develop hand-eye coordination and help you to learn how to adjust the height, power and timing of your throw for the best results. Try all 3 activities and compete against yourself as well as others in your household. There is also a bit of maths in there too. Happy Throwing!

Personal favourite of mine: The Boogaloo Song. Just hit play and copy the moves. Repeat as many times as you wish. Have fun! I know I will.

Lesson 8 King of the Cones

To develop your skills start by using one ball and rolling to a partner first then at a partner's single cone. Then try the game to see who will be crowned king or queen of the cones. At home, instead of cones, how about using books or teddy bears? Enjoy!
