As you may be aware, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are now entitled to have a free school meal every day without applying to the Free School Meals Scheme and regardless of family income.
Due to this, some families have not applied for the Free School Meals status from the Council. However, here at St Philip’s we have now introduced some other benefits for families that are successful in applying:-
Children qualifying under the council scheme will receive:
• a free school sweatshirt each term that they qualify
• free school trips
• and of course a free school meal every day
We would urge you to come in to the office as soon as possible and let us help you apply online in a matter of minutes. If you are in receipt of Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance or Income Support it is very likely that you will qualify immediately so come and ask us to help you apply, just bring your National Insurance number to the office and we’ll do the rest.
