Early in the pandemic our church sprang into action, setting up a Food Bank to help our struggling parents.
Over time, this developed into the Food Pantry which stills supports families today.
The only change being that for a small contribution, families can take away 4 times that value in fresh and tinned food but choose their shopping basket in a shop style environment inside the church.
By directing some of the Winter Hunger Food support from the government straight to the Food Pantry, we can triple or quadruple the amount of shopping our families can access.
Thanks to an amazing partnership between our school team and the church team, led by Claire Leighton and Chris Chorlton, we have been able to direct our families, especially our families eligible for Free School Meals, to the church support and support them financially to access the Food Pantry offer.
