Year 5 sink their teeth into learning about Whitby!
Whitby Youth Hostel hosted our Year Five pupils for an exciting residential trip. The children learnt all about the Irish author, Bram Stoker, where he got his inspiration for the fictional character of Dracula and how he incorporated facts about the seaside town of Whitby into his novel.
During the trip, the children also experienced paddling in the sea, a boat trip on a replica of Captain Cook's ship 'The Endeavour,' and a visit to the local museum to learn about the archeology, geology and natural history of Whitby.
